Should I Take The Plunge?

The Peanut has wavy, straggly hair that tangles easily. I am seriously pondering this pixie cut for her. Of course if she gets her hair chopped then she'll have to get her ears pierced so we can avoid any confusion. Any thoughts?

why not? It would be SO cute. Only downside is having to pierce her ears...which I would totally do, but it be more work for you! But then after they heal it would be less work because you wouldn't have to deal with the hair......

Alicia. My friend. Please don't hate me.

I saw "Should I take the Plunge?" and the picture, and I thought you were thinking of adopting a 6 year old boy.

If you need any help styling Sagey's hair, perhaps Grace could be of assistance? We have many headbands/bandanas from which to choose.

Sage will always be a cutie, regardless of the haircut.

Alicia - I thought the same thing as your friend Christie. I saw the picture and wondered what little boy you were saying something about. I think bobbing it more would make it a little easier, less tangles, but still look like a little girl haircut.

you know, whatever you decide on, it'll grow back. we have neighbors that buzzed their little 3 year old's hair last summer. at first it looked silly but it has grown in all even and it looks beautiful. i wish i would have done that for veronica a year ago. her hair is thin and stringy. i can barely make a good size braid. it's definitely a challenge. good luck. yeah, pierced ears are a pain the first month or so, but now it's all good.

I say go for it! You can always grow it back if you're not liking it so much...or give her extension like everyone else has - lol. :) only kidding. Can't wait to see the big reveal!

Can you really go wrong with Sage? She'll look adorable with whatever you choose.

That said, I'd go for a cute bob over the pixie cut. I'm considering a bob for Leda, actually.

Can't wait to see what you decide!

I did it with ELyse a couple months ago(she wanted to look like a boy in her class) so we went and it turned out soo cute...everyone was making comments even people on the street. she already has her ears pierced so no problem there, but it is cute and it even flips...sometimes.

I saw a little girl about Sage's age the other day with a pixy cut. I actually told her how cute her haircut was and her dad joked that she spent a lot of time on it that morning (apparently she didn't spend any time on it). It was striking because it was different. If was interesting because I don't think I have ever seen that style on a 4 year old. But I was confused because I wasn't really sure if I simply liked the hair style or if I actually liked the hair style on the little girl. It seemed to match the girl's personality, though, but at times she did look very boyish. I do remember my mom telling me she has been traumatized and still carries scars from a very short hair cut that her mom gave her because her mom didn't want to deal with doing her hair.
So, this comment is obviously too long…but I guess my point is if the hair cut fits Sage’s personality…go for it…otherwise you my traumatize her for life. No pressure! :-)
