Listen Up

Once upon a time Shane lived on the beautiful island of Oahu. It was there he learned to love Hawaiian reggae. He introduced me to it and I fell hard. One of our favorites is Three Plus.

Like Father Like Daughter

Today with her very own money Sage bought a Q.bel candy bar (healthy version of kitkat). She couldn't wait to have some with lunch. She cut the package open and laid the 2 bars of chocolatey goodness on the cutting board. She announced that she would be cutting a piece for herself (and me) and putting the leftovers in the fridge.

She cut herself 1/4 of one of those weensy little bars and then ate it in 5 bites.

Obviouly she is Shane's child not mine.

Listen Up

I don't listen to the radio much down here in OC...I think the awesome stations in the Bay Area ruined me. We got our radio fix in Northern CA earlier in the month and that's when I heard this sweet little love song by The Plain White T's.

The Fruits of Our Labors

Sage and I picked 17 pounds of strawberries yesterday. She averaged about 1 berry in the bag for every 3 she ate. We both decided there's nothing tastier than strawberries straight from the vine.

Sage was a big help getting all the berries ready for freezing and jam. In the end we came out with 3 gallon bags of frozen strawberries and 3 quarts of freezer jam.

29

My in-laws birthday gift to me was to watch Sage while we spent the night in San Francisco and then attended a chiro seminar all the next day.

First we picked up some dinner at Tartine.  Quiche, Croque Monsieurs, cookies that we dipped in Valhrona chocolate pudding...needless to say I was a happy girl.
We cruised over to Golden Gate Park and ate dinner.

Tummies happy and full, we walked over to the DeYoung Art Museum
and drank all the beauty in.  Shane was a very good sport.
Did you know that our first date was to the National Gallery of Art?

In the morning we woke up early and headed off to the Clocktower for the Farmer's Market.

Breakfast from the FM
(The other loot: peaches, strawberries, foccacia, chicken,
fromage blanc and Scharffenberger brownies for lunch)

Great food + Shane=Great birthday

Listen Up

William Fitzsimmons could be a character out of a novel. He grew up with music loving, blind parents, was a practicing therapist, grew himself a Moses beard and made his way onto the music scene.

His tunes make me want to get cozy in my armchair, put my feet up and close my eyes.
