Beat the Heat

We headed to the park early this morning with Shane in tow. Sage was pretty darn happy to have him around. Who else besides Dad can twist your swing so far or take you down the slide on piggyback or seesaw you to the sky?

Pure bliss playing with Dad

She loves the handicap swing

Crazy hair in the morning just like her mama

Yum Yum Mondays

My friend Em had the brilliant idea to post a recipe every Monday. I decided to be a copycat and do the same; I'm hoping there will be lots of copycats so I can round out my recipe repertoire.

On Mondays I'll be posting a recipe on our CORE blog. Click on the recipe name below to get there.

Corn and Jalapeno Cakes (Nope they're not spicy just fast and delicious)

New Bike

Sage just graduated from her Runner (bike with no pedals) to a big girl bike.

She took her bike for a whirl on Monday night and she was balancing so nicely that Shane was able to let go and she rode solo for a bit. Yahoo!

This has been a big week for the Sagester. Riding her bike semi-solo and now she can swim in the pool all by herself.

Forever

Is there anything better than a wedding? Shane and I attended one this weekend. The bride and groom were happy and in love, the words of the ceremony so simple yet profound; the same words we heard 6 years ago as we knelt across an altar together. It's good to be reminded of the promises we made and the blessings that will come if we will be faithful to each other and to God.

Marriage and family are not just for this life but forever. There's no better promise than that.
